Alex and James Winter Wedding in Stratford - December 2021

Alex and James’s Wedding day was bright and breezy but very chilly. They celebrated in their own style with amazing outfits and beautiful decorations. Everyone joined in the fun with a early registry office wedding followed by a boat trip and then an evening celebration in beautiful gothic hall.

Sarah and Wayne - Cantley House Hotel in June 2021

Wayne and Sarah and their fabulous families celebrated in style at the Cantley House Hotel in Wokingham. The sun shone, the drinks flowed, and they partied into the night. Lockie the dog was guest of honour and he took pride of place in the group photographs.

Alison and David's Wedding in Reading

2020 has not been an easy year to get married so I was delighted to capture the ceremony for David and Alison. It was a joyful and very personal wedding in the Old Town Hall in Reading with a few friends as numbers are limited to 12 at the moment. Luckily the weather was amazing so celebrating outdoors was easy to arrange. Congratulations to Alison and David.

In "Lockdown" so looking back to enjoy some great days

I love flowers and flowers can be a big part of the wedding day. It’s interesting to see flowers from different weddings together - no doubt from this selection that there is definitely a “wedding” look. These are a few of my favourite arrangements from the past few years……

Aaron and Michael's Wedding in Bedford at the Swan Hotel

What a brilliant day. We watched the weather during the week and although the sun did not shine neither did it rain which is good for early March. Everyone was so happy to celebrate this marriage of an amazing couple. It was fun, moving, heart warming and above all inspirational. So good to see everyone chatting, dancing, and sharing their love for Aaron and Michael.

Natural shots make every wedding day special

As it’s new years day I was looking through some of last years weddings and thought I’d pick out a few of my favourite natural photographs. These are the moments that make wedding photography so enjoyable. I love the portraits but even more I love it when people start to forget I’m there and I can capture the day as it unfolds.

Gemma and Michael's Wedding in Finchampstead

Every wedding is special but I really enjoyed being part of Gemma and Michael’s Day. They are a lovely couple and their wedding was a celebration of community, family, church and friends, all helping to make a wonderful, happy, fun and meaningful day. We were delighted the rain held off and we were able to make the most of the beautiful surroundings before moving inside for a relaxed yet very celebratory gathering.

Julie and Steve's Wedding at Weybridge Registry Office and the Village Hotel

“Just viewed the photos and I must say we are incredibly happy with the results. So many of our friends and family commented on how impressed they were by your relaxed professionalism and I must echo their comments. You truly did capture the true spirit of the day.” It’s so nice to get a wonderful review direct from the couple as I know it means they really did love the photos and I added to their wedding experience.

Lucy and David's Wedding at Crowne Plaza in Reading

Every wedding is unique and amazing and Lucy and David’s was no different. My stand out moments from their special day were the heart felt way they said their vows, the fun groups during the photo’s, and how grateful they were to the hotel staff and other wedding suppliers. Absolutely lovely people, and great fun too. I know they are going to make each other very happy and it was a joy to be part of their celebration.

Party Party Party

Summer is not only the favoured season for weddings but also for birthday parties. 50 seems to be a popular age this year and I’ve been lucky enough to capture several parties. Any event is worth capturing as it’s a chance to get lots of family and friends together who probably won’t be in the same room again for another 10 years. I love the fun and special feelings you get to witness at these kind of events and who doesn’t love a great party……

Lillie from 2 months to 2 years.....

One of the joys of my job is building relationships with couples and families through photography. I was pleased to meet Lillie as a new born, and have been back to record her at one, and now again as she approaches two years old. She’s a warm, funny, happy, beautiful girl and it’s amazing what you can capture as they grow up. It’s also lovely to do this in her home, and in the park opposite, as these are the places she spends her time, and in years to come the whole family can look back and smile at these precious memories. I’m looking forward to next year already ….

Scouting out the venues

Wedding days fly by, and so it’s really important to me that I visit the venues before hand and assess where we might do some portraits and group shots. I want to make sure that on your wedding day I take as little time as possible, away from your time with each other and your guests. Scouting out the venue makes this possible, as I then know where to steer everyone for the best photo’s given the light, weather and dresses/shoes etc. This is one of the reasons you pay for a professional photographer.

Ella and Lloyds Wedding at Kingsthorpe Lodge Barn in Oundle

Ella and Lloyd had a totally amazing outdoor Wedding. It was a beautiful sunny day and they exchanged their vows looking across the countryside with their guests on hay bales. The ceremony was very moving and shared by their family and friends with a reception in a rustic but totally beautiful barn and the evening ending with a band and everyone dancing the night away. Ella said to me “We loved our experience with Esther. From start to finish she was reliable, professional and we loved the outcome of our pictures. I wanted a natural and relaxed day, and Esther fitted with that so well. She captured what was important without imposing and she was a joy to have with us for our special day. We would highly recommend her for any occasion.”

Therese's Special Birthday Party at the Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort in Sutton Coldfield

Therese held her birthday party at the Belfry near Birmingham. The party was for family and friends and she wanted to capture both groups and ad hoc moments during the evening. Photographing in these conditions is always fun and my favourite pictures are the natural and unexpected ones. My photographs capture the tears and laughter through out the event especially when her sister from New Zealand arrived as a surprise - she’d not seen her in several years so it was a very emotional reunion.

Yvonne and David's Wedding at Epsom Race Course

Yvonne and David got married on the 6th October 2018 in Epsom. It was a really happy and joyful wedding with everyone joining in the celebration. The whole wedding day was relaxed and intimate as Yvonne and David had thought of everything to make their special day the most wonderful experience for all involved. It started with a horse drawn carriage ride to the church in Taplow, a very moving and beautiful church service, followed by a fun reception at Epsom Racecourse - with a steel band, harpist and brilliant DJ to entertain everyone. Yvonne looked beautiful in her timeless wedding dress and she’d especially chosen the flowers and table decorations to give a creative and timeless feel to the wedding.

Keely and Toby's Wedding at Lord's Cricket Ground in Central London

After seeing their photographs Toby wrote “Photos look amazing - we are both thrilled to bits!”. Keely and Toby's wedding occurred at Lords Cricket Ground in London on the 4th August 2018.  It was a wonderful celebration of their love for each other shared with family and friends.  The wedding ceremony was very moving and a little funny when the best man had to search for the rings in all his pockets (he did find them eventually), champagne and canapes were served in one of the Pavilion Towers which gave everyone a fantastic view of the Marylebone Cricket Club ground, and the speeches were very emotional and very special.  All in all a truly beautiful, natural, fun and yet intimate wedding.

Suzy and Ed's Wedding at St Anne's Manor Hotel in Wokingham

Suzy and Ed got married on a warm sunny summers days at St Anne's Manor in Wokingham.  It was the 23rd of June 2018 and the wedding ceremony occurred at 3pm.  The day was relaxed, happy and informal and everyone I spoke to said how wonderful it was to be able to celebrate with the happy couple.  There were four bridesmaids, three groomsmen and over a 100 guests to join Suzy and Ed in marking their commitment to each other.  The wedding had a timeless feel and using my documentary style I was able to capture all the special moments for Ed and Suzy to enjoy for years to come.
